If you value the ability to record music on location, then the iXR mobile audio interface by Tascam is just what the doctor ordered. It features two combined XLR/jack inputs and outputs, high-quality preamps and a maximum sample rate of 96 kHz, meaning it's ready to make some professional recordings. While the Tascam iXR interface is entirely compatible with your iPad using the included Lightning cable, you can also use it with your OSX or Windows-based systems. Furthermore, the iXR features a durable aluminium housing and is powered through the USB cable when connected to your Mac or PC. Alternatively, when you're using the interface with your iPad, you'll need the separately available AC Apple adapter to power the unit. Another interesting feature that the iXR brings to the table, is the ability to use it as a standalone unit—meaning you won't need a computer or tablet.
