The Solid State Logic, or SSL audio interface already brings with it a rich heritage of analogue design. Remember the classic 242 or 292 EQs? Or the legend that was the G-Series bus compressor? Enter the SSL 2. Designed for the many recording artists among us who are forced to produce pro audio on a tight budget, and simply can't afford the small fortune needed to kit themselves out with a full SSL console or channel strip, the SSL 2 USB audio interface offers the perfect middle ground. The 4K function emulated the much sought-after warmth and analogue edge of the Legacy 4K console. Besides beautifully subtle harmonic distortion, the higher frequencies are treated with a sweet boost, adding more space and air to the recording.

Studio-Grade Quality, USB-Powered

The SSL 2 provides two super-clean microphone preamps that aim to capture every nuance of the input signal, while giving them plenty of headroom, removing the need to worry if you've got enough gain to drive your microphone. Discrete low'-noise transistors combine with an Integrated Circuit (IC) to make absolutely sure of this. Since it's USB-powered, the SSL 2 simply needs to be hooked up to a desktop or laptop for high-quality recording on location, and naturally, it comes fitted with the same high-grade Neutrik XLR and jack ports, and Alps control pots that you find on any fully-grown SSL console.

Complete with Software

Among other fat treats, the SSL 2 comes with an SSL Native Vocalstrip 2 plug-in, a Drumstrip plug-in, and a trial version of the complete suite, granting you 6-month-long trial access to all of the other plug-ins - giving you plenty of time to try out professional production software to see what sticks. But it doesn't stop there, since a copy of Native Instruments Hybris Keys and Komplete Start has been included, giving you a considerable library stacked with 2,000 samples, so you can browse through drums, percussion, bass, acoustic instruments, synths, pads, atmospheric effects and more. You even get a copy of Ableton Live Lite and 1.5 gigabytes of Loopcloud samples. In short, the SSL 2 USB audo interface is an outstanding, highly accommodating in-the-box recording bundle.
