Descrizione

For those devoted to rock, hardrock and straight-up, old school metal, Revv offer the G4 distortion pedal. This stompbox is basically a British half-stack, pulled out of the '80s and squeezed into a stompbox. Incredibly versatile, the G4 comes with a highly tweakable 3-band EQ and a mini-switch to toggle the Aggression mode, making it a seamless addition to any setup and playing style.

The G4 Pedal: Big Sound

The G4 is a counterpart of the immensely popular G3 and, while you could see the G3 as a focused razor with a modern midrange, the G4 can be seen as a sledgehammer. This fat 'amp in a box' is able to build thick walls of saturated sound while also pairing beautifully with the clean channel of an amp, overdriven tubes or other effect pedals. As such the G4 will seamlessly integrate into any live or studio rig. Made in Canada with pride.

Revv G4 Pedal distortion effectpedaal

Vooraf was ik even bang dat de G4 misschien te heftig zou zijn. Maar man, wat een gaaf pedaal! Ik speel een G&L S500 op een fender clean channel. Voor de muziek die we met de band spelen heb ik soms een super clean geluid nodig, soms wat meer rock en een enkele keer gaat het richting metal. Ik zag dit pedaal alleen in combinatie met humbuckers. Maar op mijn 'staat' in de brug positie heb ik echt een super dick rock geluid!. Alle controls ongeveer in het midden, alleen de gain wat verder open (3 uur)
Dit geluid kreeg ik niet uit de G3. Hij staat dus best heftig met mijn single coils. En het geluid blijft gedefineerd. Niet wollig of rommelig. Echt een fantastisch pedaaltje!

Revv 4 pedaal: besteld via de winkel in Goes, van daar uit naar thuisadres (Gent); ondanks feestdagen mooi op tijd. Beste distortion pedaal ooit - vol geluid, de EQ knoppen doen wat ze moeten, afstelbaar van crunchy rock tot full blown metal. De twee standen van de agression switch maken een meer gecomprimeerd of net "opener" geluid mogelijk. Neutrale stand levert ook al behoorlijk goed werk. Fantastische sound ook op lage volumes, dus ook bij thuis oefenen heb je een goede sound zonder het dak eraf te blazen. Ik had online reviews bekeken (o.a. Ola Englund) en eerst geopteerd voor de Revv G3 (strakker/ compacter), tot ik de Revv G4 gehoord had, en geen twijfels had. Deze pedaal is ook perfect te combineren met een overdrive pedaal ervoor om extra oomph te genereren (gebruik zelf een TC Electronics MojoMojo), maar de Revv heeft op zich zeker genoeg in huis om alle genres tot hun recht te laten komen. Behuizing is degelijk en mooi. Absolute aanrader.
