Congas come in all shapes and sizes. The Meinl FL13BB is an extra large 13-inch conga, also called a tumba. The unusual thing about the Floatune series is its special tuning mechanism, which allows for optimal shell resonance. In contrast to traditional tumbas, Floatune instruments don't need holes to be drilled into the shells, resulting in a rich bass tone that is sure to catch the attention of the crowd. Of course, this Meinl tumba features a natural buffalo-hide drumhead, which enhances playing comfort. It's is a great choice for advanced percussionists.

The innovative tuning system isn't the only part of this conga that Meinl has put careful thought into, however. When you're playing a tumba for extended periods of time, your hands may start hurting. Luckily, thanks to the special S.S.R Rim, which is rounded off to minimise the impact to your hands, this problem is a thing of the past. Strong 10mm tuning lugs, meanwhile, ensure that the drumhead stays in tune, and thanks to the included Meinl Conga Saver, they are well-protected. This tumba comes with a tuning key, Tune Up Oil and Meinl Soundpads.
