Wampler and Grammy-nominated guitarist Cory Wong have joined hands to give the world the gift of this signature compressor/boost pedal, making tasty guitar sound available to all mere mortals! This pedal forms of the core of Cory's sound, so you're not only getting the comp response needed to create funky and sparkling tone, but some necessary boost. And we're not just talking any off-the-shelf boost: we're talking a classic MDX-ST-style boost circuit. Both the compressor and boost come with a dedicated footswitch so each effect can be engaged in isolation or they can be combined, while a clear LED indicator lights up in green for compression, blue for boost and white for a blend of the two.

The Wampler Cory Wong Compressor: It's All Good

To dial in the compression in near-surgical detail, you're provided with a set of five control pots. Season the output to taste via the Attack and Sustain pots; use the Volume and Blend pots to set the output level; mix your clean-bypass sound and effected sound with the Blend pot and, to inject that much-needed sparkle, simply push up the renowned Brian-Wampler-designed Tone pot. Meanwhile, the Boost pot can be opened up to light a fire under the 550 Hertz frequency band and, by flipping the mini-switch fitted just below it, the EQ of the boost response can be toggled between Mids or Flat. Because of the high-grade compression wielded by this pedal, it might be always-on, while the specialised balanced XLR port fitted on the rear is supported by a ground-lift switch just in case.
