How do you make a good amp head even better? Orange has spent quite some time on this question, and found the answer to be as simple as it was innovative: the OB1-300 bass guitar amplifier combo. Essentially, they took their successful amp head as a foundation and added a 15-inch neodymium Eminence speaker. To get that great, powerful tone Orange is known for, they used the bi-amp principle, which means they've taken the combination of a guitar and a bass amp and merged them into one, giving bass players a choice between a clean signal or an overdrive sound.

The blender

When it comes to options, we expect nothing less from Orange than a front panel like the one on the OB1-300; besides the standard volume, gain and tone knobs, it also has a blender. That's right, it's a picture of an actual kitchen blender! Only, this blender doesn't have to do with smoothies, it has to do with the bi-amps. The more you turn it up, the more harmonic and overdriven your high tones become, while your lows remain clear and tight. When combined with the gain, you can vary between a clean boost and a deliciously dirty sound, enabling you to create an awesome mix of tones with just your bass.

Bass combo

Another cool feature that's ideal for use on stage is that you can turn this amp on and off using a foot switch. Using the active tone control on your bass, you can remove mids and highs from the mix or give them a boost on either the clean or the overdrive signal. If your bass has active pickups, the input volume will be automatically adjusted via a handy active/passive switch. This amp also features a balanced output (3-pin XLR), a line out and an extra speaker output. Finally, its convenient size makes this Orange bass amp combo suitable for any stage.
