With its Distressed Tobacco Sunburst finish, the Ibanez AVN6 Artwood Vintage looks like it's lead quite a life. Its Parlor-style body and carefully aged hardware add to its worn look. Of course, Ibanez ensured that this guitar wouldn't just be about looks. While its Open Pore finish looks gorgeous, it also helps enhance the AVN6's volume and resonance. Where needed, Ibanez equipped the guitar with modern adjustments without sacrificing its authentic sound and feel.

Clever construction

With its Parlor design, this vintage-style beauty is very easy to play. Ibanez spared no expense to make sure this compact guitar could produce an impressive volume. First of all, there's the solid sitka spruce top that allows for plenty of volume, and combined with the aforementioned Open Pore finish, that results in impressive performance. Spruce ensures sparkling trebles, while the mahogany sides and back, along with the rosewood fretboard, give the sound its warmth and body.

An eye for detail

Clearly, Ibanez spent a lot of time on the AVN6's look. It's equipped with vintage-style tuners that have an aged look to match the rest of the guitar. Don't worry though, while they may look old, these tuners are highly durable and wear-proof. To prevent a white piece of plastic at the headstock from detracting from the guitar's overall look, Ibanez also worked on the string nut. Again, this did more than improve the look, as the bone string nut helps improve the guitar's sound. Finally, the bridge features a compensated bone saddle and Advantage bridge pins for optimal ease of use and tuning stability. In short, the AVN6-DTS is a guitar with a weathered look, but one with a great sound and that's an absolute joy to play.
