The semi-acoustic AS models that have come out of the Ibanez Artstar Series are already sought-after by thinline hollow-body fans and, since this is the Prestige edition, it also breathes the high-precision Japanese build quality that Ibanez is so renowned for. The stable three-piece African mahogany and S-Tech roasted maple neck has been bound to the body with a set-in joint, while a centreblock sits beneath the spruce soundboard to reduce the chance of feedback. The rest of the body has been made from anigre hardwood, which features a naturally intricate grain that shows through the sunburst finish. This meticulous build lays down a rich and resonant foundation framed by full mids and a light bite in the trebles. Vintage-vibed and wide-ranging, mid-output amplified sound is assured by two Super 58 humbuckers complete with dedicated volume and tone controls per pickup, and extra tuning stability is supplied by the Gotoh hardware, including a GE101A tailpiece, 510BN bridge and matching machine heads.
