The Gretsch G6120 was designed mid-1950s in close collaboration with country artist Chet Atkins. In fact, it was Chet who came up with the idea of the renowned 1959 trestle bracing, a type of body reinforcement that reduces feedback when the guitar is amplified. The Limited Edition G6120-1959LTV is a faithful reproduction of the much sought-after G6120 from 1959. It features a beautiful quilted maple top and has all the stylish design details you'd expect from a true Gretsch.

Construction

This Gretsch G6120's body is made of three-ply laminated maple and has an arched top. Its maple neck has a scale length of 24.6 inches and is fitted with a 22-fret ebony fretboard with characteristic neo classic thumbnail position markers. The guitar has the same design characteristics as the immensely popular 1959 model, including the patented 1959 trestle bracing and extensive tone controls. Two High Sensitive Filter'Tron pickups make sure that your playing is registered and a Bigsby vibrato unit is the icing on the cake.

Limited Edition Chet Atkins QC

One of the first things that catches your eye about this Limited Edition G6120 is its outstanding quilted maple top, with a pickguard that is adorned with the signature of the man who gave the guitar its name. Like the 1959 original, the G6120-1959LTV allows for elaborate tone control by means of three volume knobs (neck pickup, bridge pickup and master volume), and is fitted with a 3-way switch and - last but not least - a 3-way auxiliary switch for master tone control. Open Grover tuners provide a nice finishing touch in true 1959 spirit. Gorgeous, legendary and highly exclusive - that about sums up the Gretsch G6120-1959LTV.
