Epiphone presenta la ES Collection E-335: una versione più economica della leggendaria chitarra semiacustica ES-335 costruita dalla casa madre Gibson, ricca di vari e graditi aggiornamenti. Il corpo semi-hollow in acero dà forma alla tanto amata base ariosa, mentre il manico in mogano con profilo a C conferisce a questo modello una sensazione di fiducia e familiarità. Amplificato da due humbucker Alnico Classic PRO, il suono di questa thinline elettroacustica spazia in un'ampia gamma di colori tonali.
L'Inspired By Gibson ES-335: Pozzi CTS, dado GraphTech NuBone e hardware LockTone
La sezione elettronica della ES-335 è stata dotata di potenziometri CTS originali, mentre un set di teste di macchina Grover è stato abbinato a un capotasto Graptech NuBone e al ponte e alla cordiera LockTone di Epiphone per supportare un'intonazione pura e un'accordatura stabile. Sormontato dal fascino classico di una paletta Kalamazoo, questo strumento porta con sé il distinto stile Epiphone.

Really playable out of the box, but a few tweaks make it even better.
Lemon oil on the fretboard, polish the frets, round the fret edges a bit better. These simples things make the guitar nicer to play.
The sound is really good. Unplugged, you can feel the resonance of the notes for quite a long time.
Whether you like these pickups will really depend on your taste. They sound pretty good if you want a rather soft sound: perfect for blues, jazz, or 60's rythm sounds. Some people might miss a bit of bite for more energic styles of music.
I could not justify the price of a Gibson considering what I could get with the Epiphone.

Net als Jan in een eerder post was ik onder de indruk van de Gibson ES 335, maar er staan nog wat andere dingen op mijn verlanglijst. Deze Epiphone komt kwa speelgevoel goed in de buurt, zeker als je meerekent dat de prijs 5 keer lager is.
