Jackson SLATHXSDQ 3-7 Trans Red: tight, comfortable, and fast
In order to keep the low B string of this seven-string Jackson tight, the guitar has a longer scale of 26.5 inches. The fretboard of the SLATHXSDQ has a compound radius of 12 to 16 inches, making this the perfect guitar for tight, low riffs and high bends, all possible on one guitar. Thanks to the 24 jumbo frets and the neck-through construction of this red Soloist 3-7, this electric guitar is smooth and comfortable to play even high up on the neck.

De SD pickups klinken zeer zuiver/helder in de bridge en warm in de neck. De hals ligt fijn in de hand, vooral tegenover andere 7-strings en de finish is vrij goed afgewerkt. Lage afstelling en degelijk afgewerkte frets.
Helaas ook enkele minpunten, ik heb de tuners na enkele dagen vervangen omdat deze toch redelijk snel ontstemmen tegenover de vorige X-series. De hals (neck-thru) is afgewerkt als een neck-thru, maar heeft dezelfde bouw als een bolt-on, wat aan de achterkant duidelijk zichtbaar is. Nog een minpunt is dat de fretwire niet zo goed afgewerkt is, hier en daar zitten nog wat scherpe stukjes.
Maar over het algemeen, met een set nieuwe tuners en een uurtje werk is dit een top gitaar.
