Jake Bowen is steadily becoming a big name in the progressive metal world. He's certainly got the connections to back that reputation up, as this djentleman is Dream Theater legend John Petrucci's nephew. Now, together with Ibanez, Jake Bowen has developed the JBM20 signature guitar. It's a striking instrument with sharp lines and a matte black finish. It comes complete with DiMarzio Titan humbuckers and Gotoh MG-T Locking Tuners and an Edge-Zero II bridge. In short, it's eminently playable and absolutely stunning.

JBM20: powerful DiMarzio Titan humbuckers

The Ibanez JBM20 may be the more affordable version of the JBM100, but it still features top-notch materials. For instance, it features a couple of high-powered DiMarzio Titan humbuckers. The bridge pickup has a focused, aggressive sound with excellent dynamics, while still offering enough mid-range frequencies to help it cut through the mix with ease. Furthermore, the neck pickup has plenty of punch and a rich sound that never gets muddy.

Periphery

Progressive metal band Periphery is often considered one of the pioneers of Djent music. Jake Bowen's style is characterised by high gain and heavy palm-muted chords in combination with complex polyrhythms and virtuoso leads. All Periphery material is produced by his band mate, Misha Mansoor. In 2015, the band celebrated its 10-year anniversary, a decade in which they gave us some of the most innovative metal albums in recent history.
