Estratta dall'ultima metà degli anni '50 e saldamente ancorata al presente, la Gibson Original Collection Les Paul Standard 50s, single-cut in mogano massello, vanta una sensazione di gioco accurata per l'epoca, fondata sul profilo Vintage '50s più sottile e slanciato del manico in mogano incastonato. Questa LP STD tutta americana ha anche un classico raggio di tastiera di 12", una tastiera in palissandro e un set di tasti medium jumbo per garantire una sensazione di fluidità, mentre la stabilità è assicurata dal ponte ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic, dalla cordiera Aluminum Stop Bar e dalle meccaniche Vintage Deluxe Keystone.
La Les Paul Standard anni '50: Pickup Burstbucker
È quasi superfluo dire che questa solidbody Gibson LP dallo stile classico è rifinita con un top in acero per completare una base tonale che colpisce il tanto amato punto dolce, caldo e pieno, ricco di frequenze medie con la giusta quantità di definizione. Il tutto è amplificato dalla coppia di pickup Burstbucker a doppia bobina montati, che danno forma a un tono humbucker spesso, robusto e deliziosamente ruvido, il tutto supportato da una serie di potenziometri approvati dal tempo, completi di condensatori Orange Drop e interruttore a tre vie.

Now about the guitar, it has a really good weight to it therefore this is not a light one. The neck size is large but still comfortable even for players with smaller hands like myself. The action and intonation was set perfectly, no wonder, Gibson is using Plek machines for cutting the nut and frets. The pickups are sounding amazing. Warm and bright at the same time, lots of dynamics. I mostly play this guitar through a Marshall JCM 800. The range of the tone pots is also quite wide.
Stuff I did not like; for the price, frets could have been polished from the factory. Guitar had tool marks on the binding of the neck and there were a couple of shallow dents on the fretboard. Despite this I kept the guitar because I could fix most of these issues (apart from the really shallow dents on the fretboard) and to be honest considering the reviews I found online, I do not think Gibson can do better.
Could I have bought a better guitar for this amount of money, yes I could; but I do like the heavy and thick feel of a Les Paul.
