Descrizione

While utterly devoted to the unmistakable styling of its original '60s ancestor, the Gibson Modern Collection Les Paul Classic comes with a few highly appreciated and performance-boosting tweaks. The classic foundation is provided by a mahogany body finished with a maple top, and has been given the '9-Hole' weight relief treatment, which thankfully eases the notorious back-breaking weight of a standard LP. The bound, 12" radius rosewood fretboard has been loaded with 22 medium frets and coupled with a Slim Taper neck profile to make for superior grip-comfort, whether grabbing chords or hitting licks. This modern classic also comes complete with hard shell case and Gibson accessory kit.

The Modern Collection Les Paul Classic: Supple Tone

The Les Paul Classic comes loaded with a pair of 60s BurstBucker pickups to deliver all of the supple '60s tone you would expect but with the extra punch of a pair of bare, uncovered coils. On top of that, Gibson have gifted this sonic beast with a bank of four push/pull pots. So every tone and every volume pot can be popped to engage the coil-tap, phase switch or pure bypass, splitting open fresh worlds of LP-based sound and confirming the sheer jaw-dropping dominance of this flexible instrument. Naturally, all of this potential comes solidly backed up by the stability of an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners.

Gibson Modern Collection Les Paul Classic Translucent Cherry Electric Guitar with Case

Ik was al een tijdje op zoek naar een 2de hands Gibson Les Paul maar nadat ik in de vakantie erg veel reviews en filmpjes gezien had ben ik tot de overtuiging gekomen dat deze nieuwe gitaar erg goed klinkt en een paar extra voordelen biedt. (Extra mogelijkheden qua geluiden; 4 push/pull-schakelaars, voor coil-tapping, phase switching en pure bypass) Tot mijn verbazing komt deze gitaar al vrij goed afgesteld uit de fabriek met alle extra’s en professionele rapportage en eindcontrole. Met mijn Mexicaanse Fender Telecaster ben ik ook zeer tevreden maar deze gitaar is echt “close to perfection” en een feest om te bespelen.

Gibson Modern Collection Les Paul Classic Translucent Cherry Electric Guitar with Case

Zoals je van Gibson mag verwachten, alles erop en eraan. De koffer, het authentificatie bewijs, de foto van als hij net gemaakt is, maar ook een multitool met alle componenten die je nodig hebt als je een les paul aankoopt.
Deze gitaar is voorzien van de deftige grover tuners en weegt zeker niet licht (zoals les paul is). Qua kleur is deze ook perfect mooi gelakt. Als je van onder kijkt of van opzij heb je 2x een ander patroon. De klank is vol en iets luider ten opzicht van een stratocaster of dergelijke stratmodellen/sg/... modellen. Wat ook zeker leuk is, is dat elke potentiometer een push/pull heeft met een hoorbaar effect. Single coil/humbucker. Een Les paul uit de duizend, een aanrader voor elke les paul speler, maar ook voor iemand die nog nooit met les paul heeft gespeeld. Deze gitaar Rockt!
