Fazley Vintage Series Midas FLP318GD Gold Top Electric Guitar

For £70 this guitar is a steal. I get QC is bit ropey but I got a good neck and body, rest of hardware kinda works but it needed 2hrs of fret levelling, crowning and polishing, out of box few dead frets on g and b past 12th fret. Paint job on front is solid bar the gap beteween bridge pickup and neck, back is fine too a few blemishes but this won't be a shelf queen and will be upgraded.

After some lemon oil and EB 8s put on it plays really quite nice. Neck is the thickest I have on any electric but you don't really notice when playing it. Not that mich thicker than my 335 or chibson LP special 2

Feedback can be helped by potting the P90s. ;-)

Ik heb 30 jaar op een Gibson 1970 Reissue goldtop gespeeld met eenmarshall met EL 34 Buizen.
Geweldige gitaar en versterker.
Nu de midas Goldtop aangeschaft met de Gallactic 10 watt met 6L6 Buizen.

Samen met de 6L6 Gallactic krijg ik een beter geluid dam met mijn Gibson Goldtop en mijn Marschall.

Aanrader om beide aan te schaffen

Excellent achat comme d’habitude chez Bax shop une belle guitare du style les paul gold top à petit prix j’ai juste eu à monter juste un peux le tun o matic du côté grave pour éviter le buzz de la 6eme corde et rajouté aussi a la hauteur du bridge pickup et c’est très simple à faire et à la porté de tout le monde vous avez juste besoin d‘un tournevis et j’ai directement jouer… Magnifique le son des P90 vous n’allez pas le regretter.

Bought this in the sale for £72. I own several Fazleys and they are cheap and cheerful, poor nuts and cheap parts but more than good at the price. This one arrived quickly and needed a little setting up, oil on the fretboard always drier than the Sahara on Fazleys. Plays and sounds better than I expected, not bad at all. Bad points is it looks superb from 10 feet away, get up close and the paint is bad, marks and flaws everywhere.
If I'd paid full price, or frankly more than I did it would have gone back or asked for a discount, at £72 I can live with it but more time needs to be spent on quality control. There's a fine line between inexpensive and cheap and nasty and this skirts that line.
A nice guitar that could have been a great guitar.

Bought on a Christmas deal for £72 minus £5 first purchase discount it was a no brainer, and wow i cant believe what turned up 2 days later. Very very nice , the odd mark, but nearly perfect. fifteen minutes setting it up and away ya go. Excellent, many thanks

Sonne bien, beaucoup de sustain, très agréable à jouer. Très bon rapport qualité-prix.La teinte flashe un peu, j'ai enlevé une étoile car il y a de petits défauts esthétiques de peinture au raccord manche. C'est bien le seul défaut que je lui ai trouvé.

Het exemplaar dat ik ontvangen hebt is best een tegenvaller.
Voor de prijs is het best okay maar er zijn wat problemen.
De afwerking is best slecht met beschadigingen is de lak, kiertjes tussen onderdelen en de uitsparingen voor de pickups is het hout aan het splinteren.
Na een minuutje kan je de gitaar al weer afstemmen en de frets zijn niet scherp maar ook niet echt lekker om te spelen, had de brug om hoog moeten afstellen om fret buzz tegen te gaan.

Niet ieder exemplaar hoeft deze defecten te hebben maar nog wel okay om dit te wetten voor je er 1 koopt.

Van een meter of 2 is het nog een prachtige gitaar om te zien en voor een kind nog wel leuk om te kijken of gitaar spelen een goede hobby zal worden, verwacht niet te veel, het is maar een gitaar voor echt weinig geld.
Je kan eventueel ook wat zelf knutselen om alle problemen op telossen, zoals het vervangen van de tuners en wat bij vijlen van de frets, met nagel lak de imperfecties in de lak bij werken bijvoorbeeld.

En fin gitarr med många defekter tyvärr. Mickarna bara tjuter och kan endast användas med en marginell gain-nivå om man drar ner volymratten till 7-8. Pottarna har släpt från sina fästen och skramlar omkring inne i cavityn. Pokerchip var defekt och fick bytas. Tyvärr är Bax inte måna om varken sitt rykte eller kunder då jag inte fått hjälp med dessa problem trots att jag mailat deras kundtjänst flera gånger. Lägg därtill förseningar i leveransen. Reckomenderar inte bax-shop till min värsta fiende.

I'll start by saying this guitar was excellent value for money (I paid £141). I already have number of guitars and bought it out of curiosity, to see what I could get at this price point and on the whole I haven't been disappointed.
Plus points- Nice finish, although the area between the neck pickup and the neck is a complete mess (cracks and topcoat missing). Reasonable tuners. Bridge/Tailpiece seem to be of good quality. Basic construction ie wooden parts are good. Nicely set up. Well packaged.
Bad points- Pickup mounting screw heads destroyed by whoever mounted them and as a result, screws not all the way in. I will need to replace these. Frets unplayable with deep tooling marks and needed some polishing. Nut fell out as not glued. Damage to fretboard, some of which had been filled and disguised with a black dye which came off when lemon oil was applied exposing a grey substance.
Having said all of that I would still recommend to anyone who doesn't mind 'tinkering'.
