The legendary status of any '60s Les Paul is undeniably well grounded, which is exactly why they come at an antique-style price. Here, Epiphone offer a faithful ode to this classic model, at maybe a quarter of the price. Part of the Inspired By Gibson Collection, this electric, solid-body, single-cut guitar echoes the features of the original sixties models and takes a few cues from the more current Gibson Original Series. As such, you get treated to an Epiphone Kalamazoo headstock, a pair of fat ProBuckers, and a set of high-grade potentiometers.
The Les Paul Standard '60s: ProBucker Warmth & Bite
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard '60s lays down an authentically warm foundation sound thanks to the solid mahogany body, while the vaulted AA-quality flamed maple top and laurel fretboard complete the tasty vintage look. To add a little extra bite to this somewhat traditional base, a pair of ProBucker humbuckers have been mounted, where the second-edition ProBucker at the neck spits lightly thickened, PAF-style output and power, and the extra-brutal third-edition ProBucker at the bridge supports leads and riffs with fat definition.

To provide that final, high-quality performance boost, Epiphone have backed up the electronics section of the LP STD '60s with a dependable set of CTS pots so you're assured of refined tone and volume tweaking. In terms of playability, you get the comfortable and familiar feel of a set-in mahogany neck and a SlimTaper 60s C-profile, and in terms of tuning and intonation, you get the full support of a stable LockTone ABR Tune-I-Matic bridge, a matching Stopbar tailpiece, and a set of high-accuracy Rotomatic machine heads courtesy of Grover.
