The shells are made of 6-ply North American maple, a wood type that ensures a warm and full sound, and they feature 30-degree bearing edges, which adds to their excellent resonance and clear tone. In order to ensure durability, even under frequent and intense use, Gretsch uses die-cast steel for its hardware. The shells of this RN1-E8246-SW Renown Maple shell set are fitted with exceptionally rugged, modern hardware, including G1 ITS lugs, G1 TR clamps with wingnuts and a GT suspension mount for the toms. As such, the traditionally manufactured shells are well-prepared for modern-day use. The toms of the Gretsch Drum RN1-E8246-SW Renown Maple 2013 Satin White shell set are fitted with Remo Emperor Clear drumheads and the bass drum is equipped with a Remo Powerstroke 3. A good-looking 2013 Renown badge adorns the exterior of the shells.
