The American Ultra Series model combines an enhanced vintage Jazz sound with as-fresh-as-they-come upgrades. Although the neck width of a J-bass is already more than satisfying for many bass players, the further improved D-profile and 10 to 14-inch compound fretboard radius of this Ultra model heightens speed and playing comfort even further, making your low, growling lines solid and tight while the rounded heel keeps your higher, more agile fills easy-to-reach, smooth and melodically defined.

The Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass: An Almost Limitless Palette

As befits a full-blooded, fresh J-bass, this model has been mounted with two Ultra Noiseless Vintage Jazz Bass single-coils. These pickups are the latest generation and represent the pinnacle of Fender's knowledge to date. As such, you get an authentic Jazz bass foundation sound without any of the buzz and grumble typical of older generation pickups. Couple that with a mini-switch that flips the electronics from classic passive to modern active complete with three-band EQ controls, and you have a bass endowed with an almost limitless tonal range and unsurpassed playability.

Just as pleasing as its sound is the overall feel of the Ultra Jazz Bass. The bellycut-back hugs comfortably against your body while the satin-gloss finished neck ensures quick and smooth transitions no matter how sweaty your hand gets. The HiMass, toploader bridge and bone-nut seamlessly ensure lush vibrational transfer and, combined with the extra grip provided by the tapered shafts of the F-tuners, you're treated with an unerring bass with impeccable tuning stability that responds smoothly and immediately to any adjustments.
