An adapter is particularly useful if you often use your MacBook Pro in different places, like at home and on stage. You don’t want to suddenly be without a laptop in the middle of your gig because you forgot your charger at home! The MD556Z/A adapter by Apple offers 85 watts of power and is equipped with a convenient MagSafe DC connector with an LED indicator.

The MagSafe DC connector is equipped with a magnet, which clings tightly to just the right place on your MacBook Pro in order to provide an optimal connection. Once the charger is plugged in, an LED indicator will turn on. If your MacBook Air battery is fully charged, it will be green, and if it’s currently loading it will be orange. Should someone accidentally trip on the plug or pull it in some way, the magnetic connector will detach automatically, and your MacBook Pro will remain exactly where you put it.

A plug and a power cable

Both a plug and a power cable come with the MagSafe adapter, and it’s easy to switch between the two. Thanks to the power cable, you can bridge rather wide gaps. The plug, on the other hand, is the perfect thing when you’re travelling, as the DC power cable can be nicely wound around the plug for easy storage.
