If you own a sound set, you'll probably know how hard it can be to deliver an adequate bass level without suffering from audible distortion. Fortunately, the Mackie HD1801 can help you out! It houses an 18-inch woofer that is driven by a class-D amplifier, delivering a maximum power of 1,600 watts and an impressive SPL of 133 dB. This subwoofer does not simply owe its high-quality sound to its amplifier and woofer, however - the overall build of the HD1801 has a hand in that as well. Mackie's engineers have gone out of their way to develop a sound that is both natural and unobtrusive, and they've audibly succeeded!
The HD 1801 subwoofer is equipped with a built-in crossover, so the sound that's sent to your satellite speakers is quite balanced. Its crossover point is set at 100 Hz, ensuring that satellites won't receive any signals they can't properly reproduce. At the rear of the HD1801, you'll find four XLR outputs that can transmit left, right, full-range and high-pass signals - the choice is yours. Whatever you decide, this Mackie subwoofer makes sure your music sounds outstanding at all times.

Echter voor mij persoonlijk is het niet wat ik eigenlijk wilde. De subwoofer is echt bedoelt voor grote ruimtes en achteraf is mijn werkruimte te klein voor deze sub. Maar het is een geweldige aanvulling op je installatie!! Alleen mijn buren zijn niet zo blij.

Gebruik deze set tevens voor drive-in of overige opdrachten waar vermogen en helder geluid een 'must' is.
Heb bij deze bassen twee Mackie HD 1521's en ben er van overtuigd dat deze speakers een super heldere klank hebben. Prijs kwaliteit is erg goed.
Ook deze 1801's zijn een goede aanvulling op het totaal geluid. Bij het uitversterken van een koor moet ik de 40 tot 250hz knijpen omdat dit erg overheersend wordt. het is een echte bas. Zowel deze bassen (1801) als de toppen (1521) geven iedere frequentie super helder weer.
Het nadeel is het gewicht (45kg) en de lichte zoem van de versterker die hoorbaar is bij stiltes tijdens een voorstelling.
Over het algemeen ben ik heel erg tevreden met deze set. Ik heb veel moeite moeten doen om hoezen voor deze set te vinden. Heb ze uiteindelijk wel gevonden.
