Two overdrives with superior tone control

The Vintage/Modern switch gives you the option of two completely different overdrive sounds. Both were designed following Joe Satriani's exact specifications. The Vintage mode delivers a warm, classic distortion with just the right amount of sparkle and sustain. On the other hand, the Modern mode offers a more aggressive sound with more overdrive. In contrast with your average overdrive pedal, the VOX ICE 9 is equipped with a tone and bass control, which allows you to adjust the tiniest details to suit your preferences.

The gain knob allows you to go from a warm edge to a fat, howling overdrive. There's also a volume knob for adjusting the output level in combination with the gain - the higher the volume, the more gain you'll get! If that's not enough, you can use the 'More' knob to give the ICE 9 an extra 14 dB volume boost. The result is even more distortion that guarantees you'll cut right through the mix!
