A few years ago, GEWA and DW Drums got together and decided to enlist the help of TechniSat, Dream and Remo with the aim of creating a truly groundbreaking electronic drum kit. The result of this teamwork is the G9 Drum Workstation that looks, sounds and feels just like an acoustic drum kit, but offers a lot more possibilities too. The sounds are nothing short of fantastic and because the sensors are able to detect exactly where you strike the drum or cymbal pad, you're able to get different sounds from a single pad.

The G9 Drum Workstation is perfect for live use as well as recording in the studio. Among the numerous connection options is WiFi that allows you to access things like GEWA's Electronics Cloud where you can find a huge database of additional sounds. Incidentally, all of the sounds were recorded in Berlin's famous FunkHaus studio. It shouldn't surprise you to learn that there are a number of acoustic drum kits by DW Drums among them. The sounds are fully customisable too thanks to various adjustable parameters and Pro Audio recording tools. The G9 Drum Workstation has an internal memory of 128 GB as well as a flash memory of 4 GB.

DW Drums EX 6 High Gloss Walnut Burst

The G9 module, the sensors and all the other electronic components were designed by GEWA, TechniSat and Dream, while DW Drums made the drums and hardware. The shells in this set all have a high-gloss Walnut Burst finish and consist of an 18 x 14-inch bass drum, a 14 x 5-inch floor tom pad, two 12 x 5-inch tom pads, a 10 x 5-inch tom pad and a 14 x 5-inch snare drum. All of the shells are equipped with special 'True Rebound' mesh heads that were made by Remo. The cymbal pads are based on Paiste's 2002 cymbals and have the same shape and weight for an authentic feel. These consists of a 14-inch hi-hat, two 14-inch crashes and an 18-inch ride.
