Just when you thought there was no improving the Telecaster, Fender made some radical upgrades on this iconic guitar. The American Standard Tele has been given a set of high-quality Custom Shop pickups and a new more comfortable back. The Telecaster is known for its unique, distinctive sound and exceptional playability, and the American Standard does not disappoint. This natural-coloured Tele has an Ash body with beautiful grain and a fuller, clearer sound than the alder version. Also, this guitar has a maple neck that gives it a fiercer sound as opposed to the ones that have a rosewood fretboard.

The two most striking changes on this edition are the use of first-class Fender Custom Shop pickups and the ergonomic contours. The master builders in Fender's Californian Corona factory have fitted this workhorse with a Twisted Tele neck pickup and a Broadcaster in bridge position. These high-end single coils deliver that timeless Tele tone with an even more powerful sound. More notable, however, is the contour of the back of the body, comparable to that of a Strat or Jaguar, and prevents the edge from poking into your rib cage allowing for hours of comfortable playingwhether you’re standing up or sitting down. The bridge has also been completely altered to provide more sustain and guarantee optimal tuning stability.

More so than any other classic electric guitar, the Telecaster shines because of its unmistakable tone, defined by clear, glistening trebles and warm, balanced mids. In addition to the excellent Custom Shop pickups, the single-piece maple neck, solid ash body and thinner paint job provide a rich resonance throughout the entire instrument. The Fender Telecaster is mostly associated with country music, but, as rock, blues, funk and even jazz guitarists will confirm, it also has a wide range of versatile sounds to make it in any music genre!
