Yamaha and Eric Miyashiro worked together to create the MP TR EM 1S Signature trumpet mouthpiece - a mouthpiece with an attractive tapered design and a sound ideal for melodic passages.

The Signature series

As an instrument manufacturer it's important to stay informed by the leading musicians, and that's why Yamaha consults with world-class musicians when developing their products. Such collaboration is interesting for the musicians as well, and together with Yamaha's R&D department this is how the best instruments are made - instruments that wouldn't exist otherwise. Yamaha's Signature series is thus comprised of a number of special mouthpieces developed with famous musicians to have characteristics that they find important for their performances.

Eric Miyashiro

Eric Miyashiro was born to play trumpet, as the son of the professional Royal Hawaiian Band trumpet player Tokio Miyashiro. When he was a teenager, Eric got the chance to play professionally with impressive artists such as Henri Mancini, Tom Jones, and the Temptations. As he grew up, the list of famous musicians he played with also grew to include the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Paul Anka, Stevie Wonder, Bill Conti, John Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, and Tower of Power, to name a few. Along with that he has also played with a number of different orchestras all over the world.
